Awakening To Africa

During apartheid, two unlikely people found friendship and conciliation in the South African wilderness.  They were Ian Player and Magqubu Ntombela.
Convinced by the power of the wilderness to equalize men, the two set about pioneering the world famous Wilderness Leadership Trails, where members of the public are taken on foot through game parks in order to facilitate a better understanding of their place in nature and  their relationships with each other and themselves.

Today Ian and Magqubu’s legacy hangs in the balance. Watch as Ian in his old age returns to the park to visit his old friend’s family and grave, remember their triumphs and contemplate a future for their precious wilderness.'
